NSW: Blood and belongings found by waterside
A pool of blood and abandoned fishing gear have been discovered on rocks by the waterin Sydney's eastern suburbs.
Police say a fisherman found a green nylon bomber jacket and a small blue tackle boxalongside the blood at Bare Island, off the point at La Perouse, yesterday morning.
Maroubra Detective Sergeant SYD DAVIS says forensic tests are being carried out toconfirm if the blood is human.
He says police are worried someone may have hurt themselves on the rocks, become disorientedand fallen into the water.
Sergeant DAVIS has urged anyone with information about the property to contact policeat Maroubra.
